Our IDX vendor, IDX broker, has developed “myAgent IDX”. This iPhone app allows Realtors to promote mobile property search capabilities alongside your website. This is a great benefit that is included in your IDX service (learn more about our IDX service). The app allows iPhone users to perform a property search quickly and easily from their phone. The app recognizes their current location and provides nearby properties for sale or you can choose to enter a location.
If you are an iPhone user, consider using the app while you are out showing properties. You can show clients nearby properties for sale. Sellers will also like this tool, so be sure to mention it in your listing presentations.
Here are some helpful hints to get you started promoting your iPhone app:
How to Install the iPhone App:
In order to install the iPhone application, iPhone users will need to download the myAgent IDX application from the iTunes App Store. We provide easy to link banners that help you promote the iPhone app on your website, conveniently located inside the IDX Control Panel, providing your users one-click access to the app download:

How to Promote It:
Inside the Mobile Applications Settings area we provide you with a few options that help you promote the use of your myAgent IDX iPhone app. These promotional elements are provided to you in many different colors and styles. Whether you use our banners or create your own, it’s important for you to remember to supply your users with your Agent Code. That number is automatically displayed in the banners provided, so if you create your own, be sure to include this in those materials. If you would like to include a banner ad about your iPHone app on your website, contact Sanderson Marketing for help editing your website.
If you aren’t a current client and are interested in signing up for our IDX service with great marketing tools, such as the iPhone app, please fill out our form here.

Geico created the talking gecko and caveman series. At Progressive Insurance, Flo helps you pick your coverage. And, of course, “Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm is there.” In a very competitive insurance industry, branding is critical. The large insurance companies spend billions of dollars in advertising every year doing so.
Allstate Insurance has a new commercial that caught my attention – “Breaking up is hard to do.” Allstate tells potential customers, that if they decide to switch insurance companies that they will break the news to your old insurance company or agent so you don’t have too. Sounds convenient, right? Well, it’s a great marketing tactic.
Allstate saw a challenge. How do we ease the fears of people who are afraid to cancel their old insurance plan because they didn’t want to confront their insurance agent? The solution – Allstate will do it for you.
I also see another angle to this marketing campaign. Allstate spends marketing dollars to get people to switch to their insurance coverage, but when the customer calls their old company to cancel, the old company has a chance to meet or beat their rates. They get a chance to keep their customers from switching. When Allstate makes the call, the old insurance company doesn’t have the opportunity to offer those incentives to the customer. Sneaky – yes – but a great marketing strategy to overcome the obstacles Allstate is facing in their competitive industry.
It’s important to understand any obstacles that keep customers from doing business with you. Then, adapt a marketing plan that addresses those challenges and eases the fears of potential customers.

People surfing the internet won’t stick around your site if they don’t immediately see what they are looking for. Here are a few suggestions to consider before advertising your website:
Make sure your site is easy to navigate.
Check ALL links on your site to make sure they are working. Broken links will scare visitors away instantly.
Test your contact forms to make sure you are receiving the emails from your site. No use in spending money on advertising your site if you aren’t receiving the leads it generates.
Make sure your contact info is very easy to find.
Determine your goals – is it to sell a product? Get a quote request? Make sure your site entices the visitor to take your desired action.
Check your visual appeal. Will your design and layout catch a visitor’s attention at first glance?
Install a good stat tracker that will allow you to analyze your traffic. Internet advertising is the easiest form of advertising to track and qualify. You can see how people are getting to your site and know whether your paid advertising sources are generating business. Sanderson Marketing recommends Google Analytics – a free stat tracking service.

Whether you are running a Pay-Per-Click (PPC) campaign with Google or looking to optimize your website, choosing the right keywords for your website is the key to success. Simply choosing the terms with the highest search volume is not always the best strategy. Rather, I suggest finding a niche market. Similar to offline marketing, niche marketing can be a very successful strategy online. Targeting a particular audience with more specific terms can lead to less competition and, in turn, quicker results.
Here are some tips when choosing your keywords:
• Analyze your competition. Know what keywords your competitors are using on their website and in PPC campaigns.
• Know what people are searching. Google offers a free keyword suggestion tool that provides you with access to historical search behavior. This tool can help you determine which keywords are searched the most and suggest other that you may not have thought about.
• Be as specific as possible. The more targeted you can get with your keywords, the less competition you will face. Don’t narrow your keywords down so much that there is no search volume, but find a good balance between the amount of traffic and the relevance of your website to potential searchers.
If you have a website and have never spent time analyzing your keywords, you might be losing out on potential online business. Don’t have time to do this yourself? We can do it for you! Contact Sanderson Marketing for a free consultation.
